Executive Biography

Kyle MichelKyle G. Michel moved his practice to Columbia, SC, in 2003 after a legal and political career in Washington, DC. He formed Kyle Michel Law Firm to offer federal government relations services from South Carolina and to offer state government relations services in Columbia. He also assists clients with local government matters.

Prior to forming Kyle Michel Law Firm, Mr. Michel was Principal and Counsel at Morgan Meguire, LLC, an energy and environment lobbying firm in Washington, DC. He founded the firm with a partner in 1998 and expanded it to a twelve-person practice before selling his interest in 2003. At Morgan Meguire, he lobbied on behalf of clients before Congress, the White House, and executive branch departments and agencies. He also served as the firm’s counsel and managing partner.

From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Michel practiced at the former Long Aldridge & Norman, LLP, in Washington, DC, specializing in federal government affairs and assisting in growing the DC office from two attorneys to eighteen before his departure. He also served two years as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. Senate and one year working as an advisor on personnel matters in The White House.

Mr. Michel is a member of the Bar in South Carolina and in the District of Columbia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University. He graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee School of Law. He and his wife Melanie have four children and live in Columbia.
